Relational Practice Lab
Stop Reading About Relationships. Start Training for Them.
Introducing The Conversation Lab™ App
The world's first simulation-based relationship skills training platform — where women practice real conversations, understand male dynamics, and build the relational skills that lead to lasting, healthy partnerships.
This is not relationship advice. This is relationship training.
The Problem
Most Relationships Fail Not From Lack of Love — But Lack of Skill
Modern society provides structured, formal education for careers, financial literacy, health, and parenting. Yet most people enter marriage without any structured learning about communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, or long-term relational dynamics.
United States
Approximately 40–50% of marriages end in divorce, according to research cited by the American Psychological Association. The emotional and economic cost affects individuals, children, and communities across every demographic.
United Kingdom
Data from the Office for National Statistics shows over 100,000 divorces annually in England and Wales — with roughly 38–42% of marriages estimated to end in divorce. These figures represent only the formal endpoint. The damage begins long before.

Divorce statistics capture only part of the problem. Many couples remain together but experience emotional disconnection, chronic conflict, and communication breakdown. In many cases, couples do not fail because of lack of love — but because they lack relational skills.
The Market Gap
Advice Is Everywhere. Practice-Based Training Doesn't Exist.
Current relationship education is available in many forms — but nearly all of them share the same fundamental limitation: they deliver information without providing a structured environment for practice. The missing ingredient across the entire relationship education sector is simulation-based, practice-driven learning.
Books
Widely available and helpful for introducing concepts. However, books are inherently passive — reading about communication does not build the skill of communicating.
Coaching
Effective but expensive and limited in scale. The one-to-one model cannot serve the millions of women globally who need relational education.
Therapy
Typically accessed after relationships are already in serious distress — a reactive rather than preventative model. It addresses crisis rather than building foundational skill.
Content Platforms
Podcasts, social media, and YouTube offer advice at scale — but rarely structured training. Engagement is high; lasting behavioural change is low.
In aviation, pilots train in simulators before they ever fly a real aircraft. Medical students practice procedures in simulation labs before treating patients. Business schools run negotiation simulations before students enter boardrooms. Relationship education has almost no equivalent training environment — and The Conversation Lab is designed to fill that gap.
The Solution
Introducing The Conversation Lab
It is a Relational Practice Lab for safe, structured, simulation-based training environment where women practice real relationship conversations and observe directly how different responses influence outcomes. It is the central technological innovation of the Think Like Your Man ecosystem — and its most powerful differentiator.
he Conversation Lab is designed to evolve in three stages — from a structured scenario simulator through to a fully adaptive AI-powered relational coaching system. At every stage, the core experience is the same: you practice, you receive feedback, and you grow.
How the Simulation Works
Unlike reading an article or watching a video, the simulator places you inside a real relational scenario and asks you to make real decisions — then shows you the consequences. This is the mechanism through which behavioural change actually occurs.
Each session ends with detailed relational coaching feedback — explaining why a response escalated or de-escalated the situation, and what to try differently next time. Over time, you build a measurable skill profile across five core training categories.
What You'll Practice
The Conversation Lab launches with 25 carefully designed scenarios across five training categories, each grounded in decades of relationship research — including findings from the Gottman Institute on communication patterns and repair attempts as key predictors of relationship stability.
Communication Timing
Many conflicts arise not from the topic itself, but from when and how conversations occur. Timing is one of the most underestimated variables in relational communication.
Respect & Criticism
Understanding how men commonly interpret respect, criticism, and emotional support — and how these interpretations shape behaviour and connection in a relationship.
Emotional Withdrawal
Learn to recognise and respond to emotional withdrawal without escalating distance — building the skills to restore connection after a partner shuts down.
Conflict & Escalation
Practice de-escalating conflict, responding rather than reacting, and keeping conversations productive — even when emotions are high.
Repair & Reconnection
Master the art of the repair conversation — acknowledging missteps, rebuilding emotional safety, and strengthening the bond after moments of rupture.
Over time, the scenario library expands to 100+ scenarios covering finances, parenting, intimacy, boundaries, in-laws, decision-making, and trust rebuilding — ensuring every subscriber continues to grow with the platform.
The Skills You Build
Core Relational Intelligence Curriculum
Every scenario in the practice lab is anchored in a specific set of relational dynamics that research and lived experience consistently identify as critical to long-term relationship health.
Male Psychological Drivers
Understanding how men interpret respect, criticism, admiration, and partnership roles — and how these shape their behaviour.
Emotional Safety
Both partners require emotional safety to remain open and connected. Learn how it is created, maintained, and restored after rupture.
Conflict Regulation
De-escalating conflict, responding rather than reacting, and repairing misunderstandings — a trainable skill and the centrepiece of the curriculum.
Influence vs Control
Healthy relational influence differs significantly from attempts to control behaviour — foundational to building trust, security, and mutual respect.

Most relationship brands provide advice. The Conversation Lab, a relational skills training Lab is different. This distinction creates a new, defensible category — and a meaningful difference in your relationship.
Books & Coaching
Tell you what to do. Cannot replicate the pressure of a real conversation or build the reflex of a practiced response.
Therapy
Reactive by nature. Typically engaged after significant distress, at high cost and limited access. Not a skill-building environment.
Content Platforms
Large audiences, low behaviour change. No structured curriculum, no practice environment, no measurable skill progression.
The Conversation Lab
Simulation + Feedback + Skill Progression. The only platform that puts you inside the conversation and trains you to respond differently — and better.
Founded by Yvonne Boateng
Built From Lived Experience & Relational Research
The Origin
Think Like Your Man was founded by Yvonne Boateng — wife, mother, and relationship educator — who spent years observing a consistent pattern across modern relationships: most struggles are not caused by lack of love, but by lack of understanding and relational skill.
Women frequently express confusion about how men think, communicate, and process emotion. Men often feel misunderstood, criticised, or emotionally overwhelmed in conversations intended to build connection. These misunderstandings erode otherwise loving relationships over time.
The Vision Behind the The Conversation Lab
The idea for the relational practice lab emerged from a desire to create a clearer path — not just advice or theory, but a structured learning environment where women could develop practical relational skills including communication, emotional awareness, and conflict resolution.
The result is a simulation-based training environment that applies the same logic used in aviation, medicine, and business: complex behavioural skills are best built through safe, repeated practice.
Healthy relationships are not accidental. They are built through understanding, wisdom, and intentional practice.
